Onlays are different from inlays in that instead of milling a carved picture into a pen we instead take a picture and through ink transference can transfer the design to the surface of the wood.  The process involves creating a sticker that then dissolves into the pen.  In some instances the sticker may be slightly visible.  All images must be of non-copyrighted work or work which you have a written authorization to use.  If needed we can attempt to obtain authorization for you but there is a non-refundable $30 fee for doing this.  Before paying be aware that your request may be refused by the copyright holder or there may be an additional charge by the copyright holder.  

The clip art above was taken from the site openclipart.org.  Any art found here is free and can be either sent to us via email (pennaclepens@aol.com) or we can directly down load it for you.  When downloading use the small .png file and then right click and use save picture as....

Can't find the picture you want?  Take a photograph and send it to us.  Pictures of people, pets or any other art work can be used.

How about inlaying initials on the pen?  Unless otherwise specified we will use Bold italicized print but Old English is also available. 

All Onlays are the same price- $25  Pens are sold separately.  We recommend Maple but we will do pens in other woods at your request.
