The Bowling Pen  

     Bowling is an ancient sport, dating as far back as the Egyptians in 3200 BCE, where archeologists have uncovered a grave containing bowling balls and pins.  In England, the game became so popular that in 1336, King Edward banned the game so his men would spend more time practicing archery.  The bowling ball was originally made out of either oak or Lignum Vitae and the pins were made of maple.
