The Rugby Pen

     Rugby is a game which traces its origins to 10th century England.  Originally, the game was little more then a mob, with one town playing against another with virtually no rules.  Multiple English kings banned the game due to violence.  Slowly, the game evolved to it's current form, with rules and a ball struck by a club or shillelagh.  The shillelagh, when wooden, was traditionally made of a sturdy oak or blackthorn.
